TNS Prep for Success Assignment Pt. 1: Artifacts

I’m half-Korean and my mother was born and raised in South Korea. Every couple of years or so my mother and I will travel to Korea and see her side of the family. One of my favorite places to visit in Korea is Itaewon, which is noted for its “Americanized” cosmopolitan dining and nightlife. I resonate with this neighborhood because it was the product of both Korean and Western influences, just like myself.
This was a picture I took of Makapu’u Beach during my sophomore year. I was beach-hopping with my friends on foot (since we were too young to drive cars). This photo embodies the many adventures I went on with my friends back home as well as my appreciation for Hawaii’s natural beauty.
